Journal Monday 30Th May ’16

It is holiday here and I am not sure why I am feeling so down, I thought I would take inventory of what has happened in the past week to see if I can trace back why my spirit feels so low.

I got a picture of me going into John Lewis to buy things, some I need and some I don’t have any use for, some pricey and some worthless.

I carried all these shopping to the till wondering why I have all these things I do not need in the midst of what I need, and have no idea of how I am going to pay for them all.

My mind is so messed up with the worries of this world that rational thinking is out of the window.

In the midst of this chaos Jesus came and said I know you are confused and finding it difficult to make any decisions, I would sort out all you need, pay for all you need and make sure if you ever find yourself in this state, ask the Holy Spirit who I am going to send to you to help you for he knows all things.

Nice picture in my head bringing back my focus to Jesus who carried all our burdens so we can be free.

I realised that I have been carrying burdens that are not mine, burdens that I should leave with God to deal with because the burdens I am carrying are related to people I have been praying for in my quiet time of prayer.

Yes it is good to pray for others especially if The Holy Spirit lay people in your heart to pray for, but it becomes sin if you pray for them and still carry a burden that should be left for God alone to deal with.

I should remind myself that humans can only do what God has permitted them to do through the Spirit of God that knows all things, and God can do what he wants, when he wants in his own time which is always perfect time.

It is easy to carry burdens that are not ours out of compassion, or wanting to see those around us do better.

As humans we need to know that the burdens of life around us is not ours to carry, our duty is to pray about every burden, and surrender it all to God who created the heavens and the earth and everything that is in it.

Listen so we do not miss what The Holy Spirit is asking us to do.

We need to remember always what the Bible says that the enemy comes to steal, kill and destroy. John 10:10 The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life. NLT

If the enemy cannot find a way to torment you, he would place burdens that are not yours on you to carry, just to distract your attention and steal your God given joy.

As I realised I am carrying burdens that are not mine, I quickly repented from that and prayed about everything that came to mind as a burden, and left it at the foot of the cross.

In the book of the Bible, when Jesus was crucified on the cross, he said it is finished on the cross before he died carrying all our burdens on that cross.

As one who believes in the words written in the Bible, I am free from carrying burdens.

As I began to claim the victory of the cross, my spirit began to lift up and I can feel my joy restored.

I can see all the good things God has done in my life and the life of my family, I began to praise God for his goodness and his presence in my life.

Are you carrying a burden you should be surrendering to God?

Your joy is not depended on your circumstances, there is always a reason to praise God even in the midst of suffering, as there are always people in worse situation than you who still give praise to God for being alive.

Every trial has a testimony, learn from your trial to share your testimony.

Trust in God with all your heart and he would give you the desires of your heart, according to his will for you.

If we who are humans know how to give good gifts, how much more would God  give to us who love and obey his words?

Cast all your burdens to God for he cares for you, He has a purpose for your life.

🙂
