We do not realise how privileged we are until we are in a place where we are not able to do the basic things we do daily.
It is a blessing to be able to wake up each day and have a shower without the support of someone else, but most people do not realise that is a blessing.
You might say what has this got to do with me?
I am aware when we appreciate the little things we are blessed with, we become more thankful and grateful each day.
I have been very unwell and I had a visit from a friend me, she told me she keeps asking God why I am suffering with so much pain.
She said she knows that God can stop the pain permanently, so why has he allowed me to remain in such pain?
I said I am not in the position to question God, I have grown past asking God why because I asked a lot of that in the past, all I got was Mathew 28.20b which says I am with you always even to the end of time.
If God is with me, I can face anything because I know I am not alone. I know God knows I am in pain, and I have hope he would heal me completely one day.
Even if he does not, God is still God and that would not change or stop me from trusting in him.
When sickle pain overwhelms me, I would look up to the cross where my hope stands.
Waking up everyday and being able to shower, get yourself ready for the day is something a lot of people pray daily to be able to do for them selves.
Never take the little thing for granted.
I praise God each day for there is no guarantee of what each day holds.
Everyday is another opportunity to be a blessing to someone, to show the love of God as you might never have that opportunity again.
Life is not all about us, but all about the contribution we make towards helping others achieve their God given potentials.
Yes life comes with its struggles; but we have the assurance of hope in God that can never fail us.
There is always someone going through something that is more challenging, than we can ever imagine.
So pray for other you know and those you do not know, and be a blessing always.
God has a plan for everyone, and no one is beyond change.
Remember God’s ways are not our way, keep showing love but remember to love yourself, as when it comes to love it is more difficult to give others what you cant give yourself.
Love your neighbours as yourself means, you have to love yourself first, so you can love your neighbour.
Life never stays the same; God always has good plans for us even if we do not see it most of the time.
It would come to pass at some point.
But, as it is written, “What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him”— 1Corinthians 2:9
