Trust in The Lord with all your heart, lean not to your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he would direct your path. [Proverb 3:5-6]
This is a very popular bible verse, some of us read it and say it all the time.
Take a minute to think about the substance in those words; trust is something most people struggle with.
Here we are challenged to trust God and put him first in all we do, and allow him to guide us.
I am thinking, can this instruction and guidance be complicated? It sounds pretty much straight forward, but it is difficult when we look at it from the human perspective of not leaning on our own understanding of things, it makes no sense to think about it.
It goes against human knowledge and acceptance, not to be in charge of our own life and everything we do.
Remember, for the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men. [1 Corinthians 1:25] ESV
We do not need to understand the reason behind the instruction, all we need is obedience to the word of God, and put him to test.
So is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. [Isaiah 55:11]
Nothing is too difficult for God if we trust him and we are obedient to his word.
Difficult times would come, but we have assurance that we would overcome because we have Christ in us.
With my health, sometimes I think I do not have to feel the pain that I am going through, then I think there are people going through worse health issues. I also remember the bible did not say we would not encounter difficulties in life, we gave been promised in those difficult times, we are not alone.
And teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Mathew 28:20
You might be in a situation where you have lost hope of any change in your situation; you might be thinking how did I get myself here?
You might be in a situation where you have hoped, but whatever changes you are waiting for seem to be taking longer than expected.
As long as you are trusting in God for him to direct your path, and you are obedient to his words, keep on holding on.
He never fails and would do what he has promised. If he does not come through for what you are waiting for, it is because he has something better for you.
His choice and his timing for us are always perfect, so delay is not denial.
Sarah waited, Joseph waited and many more in the bible who waited. They got what God promised them in the end, and it was sure more than what they ever hoped for.
Pull yourself together, it could have been worse. If you came this far, you surely can carry on.
Remember with God all things are possible. You are not alone, God is with you and he would help you.
Just ask him to help you.
