I ran out of what else to name my journey journals when I got to journal 10, then I thought I had a long way to go to think of further names.
I decided to go with numbers, so here I go with Journal 011.
I was asked to lead a creative group during bible study this week, on “discovering your calling”.
I prayed for inspiration for ideas to lead this creative group, and I just did not find it.
I had to pray about it and wait with expectation that before the appointed time, God would provide the idea for leading the creative group.
Other times the ideas would flow freely, but this time it just would not come.
I decided I had to trust God to come to my rescue.
Having had silent stroke several times due to my health issues, I struggle more to think fast and also to remember things.
I can feel frustrated about my circumstances or just get on with it.
This is an example of me not stressing over what I know I cannot change. I have a choice to panic and get stressed about it, or trust God enough that when the time comes he would make all things fall in place.
Just as the time approached, I got different ideas from conversation I had with my middle child, and my mentee.
My brain felt too fuzzy to make any sense with both ideas; the more we talked about them the more complicated they became.
In the end, it fell into place and all seemed to work out well.
I know I did not lead that group in my own strength because I had a very difficult day with my health, but I was determined to push through because I was not trusting in my capabilities.
As humans we have tendencies of stressing over things we know clearly we have no power over, and we know that stress would only make our situation get worse and it is not good for our health.
When we worry, we do not trust because if we trust, worry goes out of the equation.
It is very easy to get entangled in life’s worries and concerns and loose focus on God who says, “Do not worry”, Mathew 6:25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?
If we focus on God, our worries become so small because our God is bigger than any worries we can ever face.
As long as our attention is on the one who created the heavens and the earth, what should we be afraid of?
No matter how difficult your circumstance is, keep surrendering it all to God and ask him to help you.
“I will help you”. Isaiah 41:10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
